How It All Began

It’s funny how some stories really do start like a movie, and the beginning of ours is no exception.

Riley & I met at a New Year’s Eve party hosted by his sister Julia. Before the rest of the guests arrived, I plopped on the piano and began to play. Drawn by the music, Riley came over with a guitar and we began to connect over playing music and teaching each other songs. No, not quite Gabriella Montez and Troy Bolton style but close ;) I remember one of the songs I showed him was “Better Together” by Jack Johnson - how little did we know what a fitting song it would be for us.

Our first real adventure took us to the mountains of Big Bear, where between snowboarding runs and newly formed inside jokes, we discovered our shared love for adventure and the great outdoors.
